My areas of experience and scope of practice are as follows:
- Substance use/abuse
- Families with addiction
- Anger management
- Stress management
- Relationship issues
- Divorce Care
- Academic underachievement
I work with school-aged children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. I accept most major insurances and offer quality services in a timely manner.
As a former teacher, I am aware of the time and resource constraints school counselors and social workers run into. The dual nature of my formal education and experience in both Education and Social Work is advantageous while working in collaboration with students and their parents, teachers, and other school professionals.
Throughout my studies, I focused on addiction recovery and prevention, both locally and internationally. I am equipped with a valuable skill set enabling me to offer knowledge and experience in encouraging the appropriate coping skills and motivational techniques necessary for self-care. As addiction is often a family disease, I find it valuable to work with both individuals and their loved ones.
My therapeutic approach is from a strengths perspective; I have confidence that each client has numerous strengths. I work together with the client to identify and emphasize abilities, talents and resources while assisting with their treatment goals. I offer a safe, nurturing and nonjudgmental space for clients to share information that can be important to their development and progress.
While not working, I adore spending time with my husband and four children. I enjoy reading historical fiction, watching international movies, and traveling.
I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
