Susan L. Bower, M.D.

I have been in the private practice of general adult psychiatry since 1996. I first began my practice in Decatur, GA, and subsequently expanded to join the practice at Pathway Center in 2004. It has been my pleasure to participate in a practice that is geared to meeting all the needs of the individual, from individual psychotherapy, to family therapy, group and medication treatment. Together we are able to collaborate and offer good quality care in a compassionate and respectful environment.

I am experienced in treating adults of all ages and have worked in multiple settings, including inpatient psychiatric facilities, as well as treating patients directly in assisted living and nursing home settings. Since starting my own family in 1998, I have restricted my practice to strictly an office based setting. I appreciate the opportunity that outpatient psychiatric practice allows me to get to know my clients as individuals. My approach is interactive with the aim of working together with you to achieve the best possible outcome and quality of life.

I am married and the mother of two elementary school aged children. In addition to my work, I enjoy walking, volunteering at my children’s school and participating in their dance and soccer leagues.
